Wotton + Kearney scores financial lines insurance team from global firm

A five-strong team specialising in financial lines insurance have swapped a global firm for Wotton + Kearney.

The Perth-based team is headed by partner Tim Searle.  It also includes senior associates Jade Macukat, Alex Gregg, and Gemma Cooper, as well as associate Alex Ward-Noonan. The team made the move from Clyde & Co.

“Wotton + Kearney is proud of the reputation we have built in financial lines over time,” said David Kearney, Wotton + Kearney chair. “With Tim and his senior team, we are very well-placed to develop that reputation further and can now confidently offer the same high level of expertise nationally, which is critical for many of our clients in the Australian and London markets.”

Wotton + Kearney said that Searle is well-respected in both the Australian domestic market and the Lloyd’s market for his expertise in professional indemnity (construction and engineering), D&O, public and product liability, property (construction works) and energy, oil and gas insurance. He has lived and practised in both Australia and the UK and has managed claims across six continents, including in the US, it said.

Wotton + Kearney also said that the team’s arrival in Perth continues the firm’s growth in the Western Australian capital under the leadership of partner Will Robinson.

“Tim has an excellent reputation in the WA market and is well known to many of Wotton + Kearney’s existing clients. He and his team are truly complementary to our existing general liability team and we are excited to have them join us. Our combined Perth team is now 24 people strong,” Robinson said.
