Pinsent Masons cements all-female leadership in Australia with new Melbourne head

Pinsent Masons officially has women helming all three of its offices in Australia with the appointment of Phillipa Beck as its new Melbourne head.

Beck succeeds Matt Croagh, who will carry on in the role of Australia head. Beck joins Sadie Andrew (Sydney head) and Adrienne Parker (Perth head) on the leadership team.

Beck started with Pinsent Masons in 2020. She focuses on construction law, and is dual qualified as a lawyer and civil engineer.

She has tackled matters involving project delivery and disputes in the energy and infrastructure sectors across the APAC region. Outside of her practice, she leads the firm’s Australia diversity and inclusion group.

Croagh described Beck as “a key member of the Melbourne office since joining and is a solid mentor and colleague to many people”.

Beck’s appointment was made as the firm’s Melbourne branch prepares to move to new premises at 101 Collins Street. The new office includes “areas to facilitate ‘deep thinking’, and large ‘project rooms where teams can meet to workshop ideas”, Pinsent Masons said, and has a single floor layout that “supports the firm’s approach for promoting hybrid working”.

The relocation will commence in April.
