Juno Legal has welcomed lawyers Simone Robbers and Danae Weston to their teams in Pōneke Wellington and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, respectively.

In a career spanning over 25 years, Robbers has been a senior leader, lawyer and executive across conduct and prudential regulation in the financial services sector. She has taken on executive positions at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and the Financial Markets Authority.

She also took roles with the Securities Commission and AXA New Zealand; as a private practitioner, she logged a stint with Simpson Grierson. Moreover, she spent time in Edinburgh working with the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (LloydsTSB Bank plc).

As a Juno lawyer, Robbers is assisting the new NZ Trade & Enterprise Crown entity Invest New Zealand. She is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and obtained her LLB from the University of Otago.

Weston previously led Meredith Connell’s commercial property team and was appointed to senior roles at Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities and the Ministry of Education in project management. The commercial development and property law specialist recorded stints with Duncan Cotterill and Chapman Tripp as a private practitioner.

At present, she is advising Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Rawa. Like Robbers, she also graduated from the University of Otago.
