She has helped support the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
Juno Legal has beefed up its Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland roster with the hire of Laura Ridenton.
Ridenton has worked across commercial, sports, events, media and entertainment law in Aotearoa and the UK. She has worked with international sports organisations like Chelsea Football Club and helped support the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
“Working in those industries definitely has its perks, attending a World Cup or a final at Wembley Stadium, but people often overlook the work that happens behind the scenes to make these events successful. There’s a different level of urgency in these environments, with hard deadlines. There’s no delaying a match kick-off. It’s made me more pragmatic and creative in how I approach things,” Ridenton said.
At Juno, she is presently providing legal support to New Zealand Rugby. She also logged stints with Gibson Sheat Lawyers, Northridge Law LLP (London) and Stewart Germann Law Office.
Ridenton obtained an LLB and an LLM in sports law.
