In-House Leaders 2020

legal counsel

Verity White, legal counsel at Telstra since 2016, is an experienced legal professional who uses her contract design skills and practical legal knowledge to empower businesses.

Over the past 12 months, White has played a critical role in the testing and intake of new cloud-based matter management system for the domestic enterprise customer contracting team across enterprise, government, wholesale, and health practices. She has also co-developed a strategic system to enable the health marketing team to quickly and easily submit matters for review. This, along with specialised, gamified training, has helped streamline and speed up the marketing approvals process, free up the senior legal resource from this low value work, and empowered paralegals to supervise legal work of offshore providers, increasing skills and depth of knowledge across the team. Another area of focus for White this past year has been on re-designing contracts to support a cross-functional project team on a multi-million dollar project, completely transforming its technology and contracting platforms to improve customer purchase and service experience.
