Kellie Morton is the chief legal officer and member of the executive leadership team at illion, tasked with managing complex global legal and compliance issues, including cross border data transfer, privacy, data protection, and the impacts of the GDPR.
Over the past year, Morton has been focused on implementing and scaling an international legal and compliance strategy for the business. Here are some of her key achievements:
- commenced a digital transformation of the legal function, including the launch of a cloud-based platform to manage the legal function end-to-end
- overhauled legacy legal processes, procedures, and documents, including introducing a more efficient, plain English, and comprehensive self-service suite of contracts for the business’ key products and services
- moved a suite of illion’s products to online digital sign-up
- automated self-service precedents for the business to self-manage and execute high volume, low-risk contracts
- commenced an international legal and compliance strategy and function to manage increasingly complex global legal and compliance risk, particularly across technology, data and privacy
- implemented education and training programs for the legal and sales teams
- negotiated new and innovative business deals and partnerships, including real-time COVID economic tracking
- advised the business on M&A acquisitions and integrations
- negotiated multimillion dollars of global contracts, including with big four banks, major telecommunications companies, and government customers and suppliers
