Sydney Lawyers Orchestra to ring in Christmas season with special concert

The Sydney Lawyers Orchestra will ring in the Christmas season this year with a special benefit concert.

The event is intended to “mark the end of a challenging year and celebrate the gift of music,” according to a statement on Bird & Bird’s website.

The group will perform beloved Christmas tunes, as well as music composed by Mozart in his youth. Australian composers will also get a chance to shine.

Bird & Bird is sponsoring the free event, which was organised by Sydney partner Thomas Jones in support of Beyond Blue. Attendees are encouraged to provide donations.

Jones, who established the orchestra in 2014, is also set to conduct.

The concert will take place on 16 December at St Stephen’s Uniting Church on Macquarie Street. The event kicks off at 6:30pm.

The Sydney Lawyers Orchestra is made up of classically trained musicians in the legal industry.
