Top mediators to talk strategy at NZ Law Awards webinar

New Zealand’s leading mediators will be looking to spill the secrets of their successful strategies in mediation at a webinar entitled “We can work it out: Successful mediation strategies uncovered.”

Three top performers from the recently concluded 2020 NZ Law Awards will share tips on how parties can come up with workable and commercially viable solutions. The superpowered panel will consist of Hayden Wilson, chair and partner of Dentons Kensington Swan; Wayne Francis Marriott, peacebuilder at Fleetwood Group Limited; and Paul Sills, independent mediator and arbitrator.

The discussion will be mediated by Resolution Institute COO Trevor Slater.

Wilson, Marriott and Sills will touch on topics including:

  • combining commercial acumen with an ability to understand complex commercial concepts 
  • balancing legal analysis, management of parties and pragmatism in mediation
  • asking the necessary questions from a well-informed and neutral position
  • deftly directing parties to remain in a frame of mind conducive to achieving resolution

The webinar will be held on 27 May. The discussion starts at 10am and ends at 10:30am.
