In-house stars to discuss challenges in financial services at NZ Law Awards webinar

The best and brightest in-house legal stars in the country will zero in on the challenges faced by the financial services sector in 2020 at a webinar centred on the theme “Managing a successful financial services in-house legal team.”

Simpson Grierson partner Josh Cairns will moderate a panel discussion covering solutions to regulatory, market and operational hurdles, such as:

  • supporting business units with advice, strategic insights and transactional oversight 
  • modernising, restructuring and evolving legal processes  
  • leading financial institutions through highly complex and significant developments in financial services regulation 
  • working successfully with external advisors 

Joining the panel will be Dione Miller, who is the head of legal – dispute resolution, regulatory and investigations at Bank of New Zealand; Cristina Billett, who leads the legal team at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund; and Kristy Redfern, GC and company secretary at AIA NZ Limited.

The three organisations led the pack at the 2020 New Zealand Awards in the Simpson Grierson Financial Services In-House Team category.
