White & Case adds white collar lawyer Joel Cohen in New York

White & Case LLP has expanded its white collar practice with the addition of Joel M. Cohen as a partner in New York.

"The growth of our US offices and more broadly our litigation practices is a global priority," said Scott Hershman, White & Case partner and head of the firm's white collar practice. "Joel is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with an outstanding market reputation and profile, and his addition to the team will further strengthen our practice."

Cohen is a trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor who has been lead or co-lead counsel in 24 civil and criminal trials in federal and state courts. His experience includes all aspects of FCPA/anticorruption issues, insider trading, cross-border tax issues, securities and financial institution litigation, class actions, sanctions, money laundering and asset recovery, with a particular focus on international disputes and discovery.

"Joel has a strong track record of business generation and success," said Nicole Erb, White & Case partner and regional section head for Americas trade, intellectual property & white collar. "His arrival will boost our white collar, securities and financial institution litigation capabilities in the US, and will be an outstanding addition to our team."

Cohen joins the firm from Gibson Dunn, where he was co-chair of the white collar defense and investigations group, and a member of the firm's securities litigation, class actions and antitrust practice groups.
