Former KPMG Asia Pacific cyber security leader Matt O’Keefe is set to lead the cyber, data and technology (CDT) arm of Wotton Kearney’s new advisory practice, WK Advisory, as head of advisory – cyber, data and technology.

The practice will cater to client demand for proactive risk, cyber and regulatory advice. In particular, the CDT practice will focus on cyber security, privacy, regulation and operational resilience risks across the full cyber risk cycle.

O’Keefe has guided boards and executive teams in the APAC region on cyber risk, technology governance and digital strategy for over 25 years. He was on KPMG’s global cyber leadership team.

“Regulatory obligations continue to elevate board and executive responsibility. Organisations are no longer asking whether a cyber incident will occur, but when”, he said.

The Melbourne-based CDT head will collaborate with cyber specialist Josh Simonis, who was previously with Deloitte.

“Clients are facing increasingly complex risk environments, particularly in cyber, data and regulatory compliance”, said Wotton Kearney CEP David Kearney. “Cyber, data and technology is the first step in our advisory business expansion, and there will be further advisory pillar announcements to the benefit of our clients as business risks continue to expand”.
