HopgoodGanim Lawyers has welcomed a new COO and CFO in Graeme Johnson.
Johnson commenced with the firm on 23 March. He will supervise HopgoodGanim’s operational, financial and strategic functions.
He will collaborate with managing partner Luke Mountford as well as with the firm’s executive committee and wider leadership team. Mountford said Johnson’s appointment marked “a significant step forward for HopgoodGanim” and highlighted his “rare combination of professional services expertise and large scale commercial leadership”.
“As the firm continues to grow and evolve, it was critical for us to strengthen our executive leadership with someone who brings both deep legal sector experience and sophisticated commercial capability. Graeme’s appointment reflects our commitment to building a leadership team that can support the firm at the highest level”, Mountford said.
Johnson was previously with Clayton Utz, where he was COO and CFO from April 2012 to July 2025 per LinkedIn. He was also CFO at several Westpac divisions, Macquarie Airports, and Oaks Hotels and Resorts. He was managing director at Cassegrae Group and a manager at KPMG Australia.
He will be working from HopgoodGanim’s Brisbane branch.
Special counsel Lea Fua also returned to HopgoodGanim on 23 March. He focuses on corporate and M&A and has worked with clients in the mining and agribusiness sectors.
He first joined HopgoodGanim in October 2007 as a senior associate, per LinkedIn. He then made the jump to K&L Gates in April 2018, becoming a special counsel in April 2019.
Fua logged a stint as general counsel at Vitrinite from January 2024 to February 2026 before recommencing with HopgoodGanim. Like Johnson, he will operate from Brisbane.
