Parker Cowan Lawyers adds two to litigation team in Queenstown

Parker Cowan Lawyers has added two new members to its litigation team in Queenstown, according to a report from the New Zealand Law Society.

Lauren Barnett joined the firm as a lawyer, while Thomas Bielby joined as solicitor and barrister.

Barnett is a specialist in land use regulation, and over the last 15 years has worked in the areas of development, infrastructure, town planning, building, land compensation, environmental, and administrative law.

She has a broad range of experience and has advised on land use, development and regulatory permitting, and licencing for small and large projects – including major resource and energy projects, mining operations, hospitality operators, and apartment and shopping centre developers.

Meanwhile, Biebly first worked as an investigator for the Regulatory Services branch of the Department of Internal Affairs. He then moved to London where he worked at Freshfields, Skadden Arps and Mishcon de Reya, according to the NZ Law Society.

Before joining Parker Cowan, Biebly was an associate at Lowndes Jordan in Auckland, where he specialised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
