Law Society Connect is at initial launch stage

The New Zealand Law Society (Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa) has recently embarked on the first phase of Law Society Connect, a new member services portal that aims to offer smart event management, streamlined payments, and automatic CPD tracking.

The law society noted in a news release that it intends to adjust the base model in the future to improve its representative service delivery and enhance the online portal’s functionality.

The regulator shared that its new portal seeks to serve as an integrated and user-friendly one-stop shop for lawyers to access the law society’s events and membership benefits.

The law society said the changes represent a major step forward in its representative service delivery. In its news release, the regulator added that the new portal’s launch demonstrates its:

  • adoption of technology in an effort to improve member services
  • evolution to help meet the legal profession’s needs
  • commitment to supporting the profession with modern tools
  • focus on accessibility

According to the law society, while the new portal applies to representative services, lawyers should keep utilising the Registry for regulatory functions, including practising certificate renewals and continuing professional development (CPD) declarations.
