Employment law expert Tess von Dadelszen has joined Morrison Kent as its newest senior associate, reported the New Zealand Law Society.

Von Dadelszen specialises in all aspects of employment law, with a particular focus on disciplinary and performance management issues, restructures, and issues arising out of the parental leave legislation. She is knowledgeable about matters involving the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987, the Holidays Act 2003 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

She has worked with both employers and employees, and taken on cases involving bullying and harassment claims. She has also handled matters involving redundancy, personal grievances, health and safety issues, salary and wage concerns, employment agreements and trade restraints.

Von Dadelszen has collaborated with businesses to conduct trainings for management to boost their knowledge in employment relations issues.

She has appeared before the Employment Court, Education Council and the Employment Relations Authority. She has also helped to prepare for litigation before the District Court and High Court as well.

In addition, von Dadelszen has considerable experience with mediations.

She received her degree at the University of Otago in 2011, and began her legal career as a solicitor at Kensington Swan (now Dentons Kensington Swan). Prior to making the jump to Morrison Kent, she worked with boutique employment law and litigation firm LangtonHudsonButcher as an associate and later senior associate.

Von Dadelszen began operating from Morrison Kent’s Wellington office last month.

In February 2019, the firm combined with Rotorua firm East Brewster to launch its Rotorua branch.
