He takes the helm at the end of the year
Sam McIvor has been announced as the new managing partner of Brisbane firm Mullins Lawyers.
McIvor steps into the role at the end of the year. He succeeds Curt Schatz.
“I am honoured to be called upon to lead the firm through its next phase of growth. It’s a very exciting period for the firm and I look forward to working collaboratively with partners and staff to achieve our strategic objectives, including maintaining sustainable growth, delivering excellent client service and nurturing our next generation of leaders”, McIvor said.
He is currently an equity partner who leads the firm’s business team. He focuses on employment law, including employment relations, industrial relations and health and safety; he has tackled contentious and non-contentious issues including unfair dismissal, adverse action and discrimination claims, and contracts and policies and procedures.
Schatz, who led Mullins Lawyers since 2015, will remain with the firm as a senior equity partner concentrating on hospitality law.
“When I came to the managing partner role my vision was to direct growth and succession, we have certainly achieved that”, he said. “But I am not going anywhere and will now have more time for my clients and referrers without the managing partner role. It is a wonderful time to recognise the solid platform that now exists for the firm's future, and I believe Sam’s leadership will drive the firm toward even greater success”.
