A legal operations expert has joined BarkerGilmore’s senior advisor team.

Audrey Rubin is considered to be a ground-breaking legal and business executive who has advised organisations in the roles of general counsel, chief operating officer, vice president of human resources, board member, and law firm partner,” said Robert Barker, the managing partner of the New York boutique executive search firm, in a media release. “Her influence spans the global technology, financial services, and hospitality industries, prominent law and accounting firms, and academia. This range of experience has empowered her with a unique understanding of today’s multi-faceted business world.”

Rubin has received recognition in the US as a pioneer of legal operations and a leading expert in the business of law, BarkerGilmore said. She has provided advice to law firms and departments on operations, profitability, business acumen, leadership and team development, and diversity and inclusion, as well as on applying process improvement and practical technology to maximise value.

Throughout her career, she has worn many hats in the law and business worlds.

Rubin has served as the vice president and COO of NYSE-listed Aon Corporation’s global law and compliance department, where she managed business matters such as finance, talent, strategic planning, technology and process improvement. In the process, the division garnered the ACC Value Challenge Award and was recognised by organisations like the Chicago Bar Foundation and the Legal Aid Society.

She was an acting GC at another NYSE-listed company, Orbitz Worldwide, and was the chief legal officer and acting chief human resources officer at Grant Thornton. She also worked with United Airlines affiliate Apollo Travel Services in a variety of roles.

Moreover, Rubin served as the COO of law firms Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon and Butler, Rubin, Saltarelli & Boyd.

“With her proven expertise and success in creating and delivering enhanced solutions and exceptional results, she will be invaluable in helping BarkerGilmore’s clients optimise their legal and compliance departments and reduce costs,” Barker said.

Rubin joins an advisory and coaching division composed of Fortune 500 GCs, COOs, and board members aiding legal and compliance departments, CEOs and boards by providing services such as strategic counsel and leadership development.
