Corrs Chambers Westgarth has boosted its institutional investment expertise with the hire of a senior partner from Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF).

Fadi Khoury, who joins the firm’s corporate and finance team and will be based in the Sydney office, adds to the group of partners who have left NRF and Henry Davis York (HDY), whose merger with went live 1 December.

“Fadi is recognised as a trusted advisor to domestic and overseas investment clients, particularly in the area of fund structuring,” said John W.H. Denton AO, Corrs partner and CEO. “He has advised on some of Australia’s most significant investment management, funds M&A and capital transactions across real estate, venture capital, private equity, and agricultural and infrastructure investment. Fadi is also widely respected for providing crucial commercial guidance to banks, fund managers, fintech players and other financial services organisations here and abroad.”

Khoury spent 11 years as a partner at NRF. Before that, he was a senior associate at MinterEllison. During his career, he’s advised Invesco and KKR on the investors’ credit-based investment offerings into the Australian market. He also designed the agricultural investment fund run by Laguna Bay Pastoral Company, the firm said.

His clients include investors, private equity, fund managers, and financial services firms, who he has advised in investment management, M&A, and capital transactions matters.

Khoury’s arrival follows Corrs’ hire of partner Kon Mellos from Herbert Smith Freehills and partner David Fixler from King & Wood Mallesons in September.
