Wynn Williams has announced the appointment of board chair Hayley Buckley to State Capital Group’s (SCG) 2024 board of directors.

Buckley will sit on the board for three years. Managing partner Ash Hill pointed to Buckley’s strategic leadership qualities as being an asset to the board.

In addition to serving as Wynn Williams board chair, Buckley leads the firm’s corporate advisory and M&A practice. She has worked on domestic and cross-border M&A and  has acted for large corporates, private equity investment funds, and managers in management buy-outs.

She played a significant role in the policy phase of the securities legislation that gave effect to equity crowdfunding in the country. She also has significant experience in the logistics and education sectors, having advised on major transport, storage, logistics and supply chain transactions as well as complex 3PL and 4PL commercial contracts.

For two straight years, Buckley was named the NZX future director (2020 and 2021). In 2022, NZ Lawyer selected her as one of its Elite Women.

SCG is a global network comprising 122 independent law firms.
