Two female lawyers have been promoted to partner at Wynn Williams – including a lawyer who was recognised by NZ Lawyer last year as a Rising Star.

Kimberley Wong and Ellie Harrison are the latest additions to the firm’s partnership, strengthening the firm’s offerings in corporate advisory & transactions and dispute resolution, respectively.

“Becoming partner is a key career milestone. Getting there is not only a reflection of technical competence and having gained the respect of both clients and colleagues, but of the skills required to carefully navigate often complex situations with the utmost integrity. I want to congratulate Ellie and Kimberley on their achievements. Not only are they both excellent lawyers, but they are also incredible mentors for more junior members of the firm”, managing partner Ash Hill said.

Wong was part of an illustrious batch of Rising Stars last year, which included fellow partner Richard Hargreaves. She has worked on all aspects of M&A for both local and global clients, as well as on the establishment and funding of private equity and private debt funds.

Before making the jump to Wynn Williams, Wong was based in London, taking the lead on complex and high-value corporate deals.

Meanwhile, Harrison focuses on regulatory defence and inquiries. She also specialises in commercial litigation with a focus on insurance-related disputes, particularly professional indemnity and statutory liability claims.

She has handled regulatory prosecutions involving WorkSafe and local government.

Wong and Harrison both operate from Wynn Williams’ Tāmakai Makaurau Auckland office. With their additions, the firm now has a total of 27 partners.
