Tony Herring extends run as NZ Law Association president

Tony Herring has been reappointed president of The Law Association of New Zealand (TLANZ) for one final year.

His re-election was confirmed at TLANZ’s annual general meeting today, along with the reappointments of Luke Crawford, Geneva Lowe and Julie-Anne Kincade KC to the council for two more years. All the nominations were unopposed.

“I’m honoured to be reappointed as president of The Law Association. It’s a privilege to continue working alongside such a dedicated profession as we focus on supporting lawyers at every step of their careers, strengthening our community, and ensuring The Law Association remains a strong and trusted voice for the legal profession in the years ahead”, Herring said.

Council members will appoint the association’s vice president at its meeting this month.

TLANZ also debuted a new brand campaign with the theme “For every lawyer at every step”. TLANZ chief executive Clayton Kimpton explained that the campaign acknowledged the profession’s diversity.

According to Herring, it represented a commitment to supporting lawyers in all stages of their professional journeys.

“Whether someone is just starting out, building their practice, or leading within the profession, we want them to know The Law Association is here to connect, support and advocate for them every step of the way”, Herring said.
