Property and trusts law specialist Sam French has been named a director at general practice firm Convex Legal.

He joins founder Katherine Mexted at the helm of the Wellington firm as its second director. French has been with Convex Legal for four years, and is also a board member on a number of charities related to the sports, recreation and rainbow communities.

In addition, the firm elevated legal executive Jenny Samson to senior associate. The property and estate planning expert spent 13 years at Dentons Kensington Swan, and has been a registered legal executive for 25 years. She operates from Convex Legal’s Wellington and Mana branches.

The firm also brought in former professional rugby analyst Chris Lapage as an associate. The Portsmouth native recently wrapped up a five-year stint with Bell Gully’s financial services team in Wellington.

With the addition of Lapage, Convex Legal’s team swells to eight. The firm, which focuses on property, commercial and asset planning matters, has branches in Wellington, Mana and Porirua.
