The firm also elevated two to senior associate and one to associate
Trade marks specialist Kate Giddens has been promoted to principal at AJ Park.
She becomes the fifth principal in the firm's trade marks practice as of 1 July.
"I am very lucky to work with colleagues (now friends) that have been with me since day one, or very close throughout my career, and with mentors and leaders who have guided and helped me over the years", Giddens said. "After the internal announcement, the enthusiasm and support from the team, both immediate and wider, has been a highlight. Their celebration helped me appreciate the magnitude of the achievement in being promoted to principal".
She has been with the firm for five years, having started with AJ Park in 2020. She brings more than 15 years of trade marks experience.
IPH chief people officer Fiona Darlington said that the IP firm network was "see more women across our firms being recognised in this way and stepping into leadership roles".
AJ Park also elevated chemical and life sciences practitioner Dr Jason Busby and engineering and ICT practitioner George Karkera to senior associate; Rumbie Mutanga of the law team was promoted to associate. Their promotions took effect today as well.
