Both are commercial litigators concentrating on banking and financial services matters
Emma Peart and Janko Marcetic have made partner at Chapman Tripp following a promotions round.
Both are commercial litigation lawyers focusing on banking and financial services matters. Peart works with public and private sector clients on complex commercial and regulatory matters and disputes, while Marcetic advises insolvency practitioners, banks and financial institutions.
Peart acts for clients in investigations, court proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration. She has been involved in cross-border litigation and arbitration.
Marcetic concentrates on restructuring and insolvency in addition to banking and financial services. He has handled complex issues during receivership, liquidation and administration. He has appeared before all court levels in New Zealand and was lead counsel in matters before the Court of Appeal, High Court and District Court.
Chapman Tripp also elevated Rebecca Tompkins to special counsel in the same promotions round. She focuses on environmental and planning law.
She has advised public and private sector clients on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, urban development, commercial contracts and due diligence investigations for nearly 20 years. She has worked across New Zealand and Australia.
Tompkins has tackled matters involving legislative reform and policy advice and liability and regulatory obligations and compliance. She has advised on legal strategies for risk management in commercial transactions.
The newly promoted lawyers will step into their new roles on 1 December.
