44 organisations stood out as the ideal workplaces for legal professionals in the region
Australasian Lawyer and NZ Lawyer have unveiled the 5-Star Employers of Choice for 2025.
To be a top employer in the legal profession today is a challenge, with organisations having to navigate intense competition for talent, growing workloads and shifting workforce expectations while delivering exceptional employee experiences.
“In 2025, the law firms standing out and attracting the top talent are those offering more than just competitive salaries. They’re known for their strong reputations and leadership teams that genuinely invest in their people’s development”, Robert Walters Sydney associate director Robert Kruger said.
Employee engagement has also become a critical piece of the puzzle, with career growth opportunities being vital to talent retention.
“There’s been a rise in targeted development initiatives, such as structured mentoring, buddy systems and women in leadership programmes. These are helping employees grow and stay engaged”, Kruger said.
Employer of Choice Tavendale + Partners displayed diversity and inclusion at the top level, with 70% of senior roles going to women. McCaw Lewis implemented a values-based recruitment process that provided transparency in role expectations and firm culture.
