Auckland Council appoints three senior lawyers

Auckland Council Legal Services has recently made three senior appointments, the New Zealand Law Society said.

The council has appointed Kathryn Hickling, Kate Lawson-Bradshaw, and Kate Morrison as senior solicitors.

Hickling adds to the council’s legal function 20 years’ experience in private practice in Australia and New Zealand. She was most recently the principal who headed the property team of Auckland boutique firm Lowndes. She also practised at MinterEllison and Norton Rose Fulbright in Australia and Bell Gully in New Zealand.

Lawson-Bradshaw moved back to New Zealand after a year at the Government Legal Department in London working on immigration law. She also practised at Chapman Tripp and Meredith Connell in Auckland. She is an expert in professional disciplinary matters and criminal prosecutions.

Kate Morrison joined the Auckland Council from Anthony Harper. She is an experienced public lawyer and litigator, including in commercial litigation. She also previously practised at Wilson Harle in Auckland.
