Anderson Lloyd has lured Chapman Tripp’s Jo Appleyard, Ben Williams and Ingrid Taylor to its Christchurch office, strengthening its South Island offering.

The three will join the partnership, bringing up the number of partners at Anderson Lloyd Christchurch to an even dozen. Appleyard and Williams will practise with the resource management team while Taylor focuses on property and private wealth.

“This is a unique and exciting moment of growth. Jo, Ben and Ingrid are outstanding lawyers who bring to Anderson Lloyd exceptional expertise and client service, strong client connections and a clear alignment with our values and vision”, Anderson Lloyd chief executive Richard Greenaway said.

Appleyard has tackled major infrastructure and energy projects, industrial and residential developments, Iwi matters and marine farming. Meanwhile, Williams is an expert in natural resources and has advised Iwi and rural and industrial infrastructure; he has handled irrigation and regional development projects as well. He is connected to rural infrastructure providers, Iwi and rural clients and communities.

Taylor was once a partner at Christchurch firm Taylor Shaw. She has worked on all aspects of commercial and rural acquisitions as well as leasing matters.

“Welcoming Jo, Ben and Ingrid to Anderson Lloyd marks an important step forward, and signals our ambition to continue growing with purpose in support of our clients and their businesses”, Anderson Lloyd chair Geoff Busch said.

Williams said that the firm’s focus on developing client relationships in the infrastructure, Iwi, energy and rural sectors “made the move a natural fit”.
