Her legal experience spans franchising, property, commercial matters
Lynch Meyer Lawyers, an Adelaide-based law firm, has announced the appointment of franchise lawyer Seva Surmei as a partner in its transactions team.
Malinda Kuo, a Lynch Meyer partner, welcomed Surmei’s addition to the firm.
“We are pleased to have Seva join Lynch Meyer,” Kuo said in the firm’s media release. “Seva brings valuable experience and skills that will further strengthen the service we provide to our clients.”
The firm shared that Surmei has experience in franchising law, as well as a background in property and general commercial transactions.
According to the media release, with the appointment of Surmei, Lynch Meyer now has 11 partners, representing its largest ever partnership since the firm’s establishment in 1954.

Surmei’s LinkedIn page and her profile on Lynch Meyer’s website provided more information regarding her professional experience, organisational memberships, and educational background.
She served as principal of DMAW Lawyers in Adelaide from June 2008 to December 2025.
With clients running domestic, national, and international operations, Surmei has offered advice regarding licensing, distribution, and compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct. She has also assisted with establishing, developing, or operating franchise networks.
Her clients have included accountants, financial planners, bankers, business owners, and high-net-wealth individuals.
Surmei’s work on commercial and property matters encompasses mergers, contracts involving business sales and purchases, property transactions, retail and commercial leases, due diligence, and settlements.
She has served as a committee member of the Franchise Council of Australia’s SA chapter and women in franchising group since 2012. She has also been a committee member of the Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association’s SA chapter and a member of the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia.
Surmei gained admission as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2008.
She received her graduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Society of South Australia. From the University of Adelaide, she obtained her LLB (honours) and her BCom in accounting.
