Jones Day welcomes former Ashurst partner to energy practice in Brisbane

Jones Day has announced the appointment of Simon Brown as a partner in its energy practice in Brisbane.

Brown comes in with over 25 years of experience  advising on cross-border M&A transactions, corporate structuring, and private equity transactions across Australia and the broader APAC region. He has represented major corporations in the oil and gas, mining and resources, renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure industries.

He has also provided guidance on joint ventures and equity capital markets transactions. He has also tackled takeovers, disposals, capital raises, and corporate governance matters

Prior to joining Jones Day, Brown was a partner at Ashurst for over 23 years. According to Jones Day, he previously worked on the multibillion-dollar acquisition of a majority stake holding in a gold and copper mine and the establishment of a renewable energy development platform in Southeast Asia.

Brown has worked across Australia, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Jones Day also welcomed Paul Greening to the partnership in Singapore.
