Piper Alderman has promoted 3 to partner in a promotions cycle that saw a total of 16 lawyers take on new roles this year.

Steven Pettigrove joins the partnership of the financial services and fintech team in Melbourne. He has been practising for 14 years, focusing on digital assets regulation and dispute resolution. He received training in London and Hong Kong, and once founded a startup. His clients include financial institutions, fintechs, digital currency exchanges, startups and venture capital funds.

Adelaide-based Juniper Watson made partner on the firm’s projects, infrastructure and construction team. An infrastructure and construction expert, she tackled projects such as Project EnergyConnect and EP Link; she also advised ElectraNet on a contract to connect a major copper, silver, and gold mine with the South Australian electricity grid.

Sydney’s Beau Weigand joined the partnership in the dispute resolution and litigation team. Over a legal career spanning 15 years. he has specialised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. After joining Piper Alderman in 2017, he shifted his focus to high-value, complex funded litigation such as class actions in which he has acted for both representative plaintiffs and large multinationals. He has handled contract disputes, regulatory affairs, and product liability claims across various industries.
