Four Australian lawyers ascend to counsel in Clifford Chance promotion round

Four Australian lawyers have been elevated to counsel in a recent Clifford Chance promotion round.

Adam Wood (Perth), Alexander Sorgese (Sydney), Rodolpe Ruffié-Farrugia (Perth) and Daniel Forster (Sydney) were among 15 lawyers who ascended to the role across the firm’s APAC offices. Wood and Sorgese are part of the global financial markets team, while Ruffié-Farrugia and Forster are with the litigation and dispute resolution team.

Wood’s practice focuses on financial markets, derivatives, structured finance and financial regulation. He has worked with investment banks and financial investors/sponsors; while admitted in England and Wales, he is not admitted to practice is Australia.

Ruffié-Farrugia concentrates on international commercial arbitration, investor-state dispute settlement, and public international law. He has handled high-stake cross-border disputes in the energy, mining, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors, with a particular focus on space activities, esports, and the cannabis industry.

Forster is a specialist in complex commercial disputes and commercial conflict of laws. He has appeared before several courts and tribunals in Australia and APAC.
