White & Case launches commercial litigation practice in Madrid

White & Case LLP has expanded its global commercial litigation practice into Spain with the addition of Francisco Malaga as a partner in Madrid.

"The launch of our commercial litigation practice in Madrid with the addition of Francisco is an important step as we continue to strengthen our global capabilities," said White & Case partner Glenn Kurtz, head of the global commercial litigation practice. "The focus of our practice in Madrid will be high profile litigation for corporates and financial institutions, working closely with Madrid international arbitration counsel Ignacio Madalena and our offices globally to advise clients on their most complex disputes."

Malaga advises corporates and financial institutions on a wide range of litigation matters. He also has experience advising on compliance, investigations and anti-money laundering, as well as collective redress and arbitration. Francisco joins White & Case from Linklaters, where he was a partner.

Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "Spain is one of the largest and most important economies in Europe and enjoys strong trading ties with Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, as well as with the European market.

“Establishing our commercial litigation team in Madrid and the arrival of Francisco supports the growth of our global commercial litigation practice as well as the expansion of our capabilities in Madrid as we look to be the first choice for our global clients in Spain and for our large Spanish clients on their domestic and international matters."
