White & Case expands global tax practice in Mexico City

White & Case LLP has expanded its global tax practice with the addition of Carlos Martinez as a partner in Mexico City.

"We're experiencing continued strong demand for our corporate capabilities in Mexico, and our team continues to go from strength to strength, advising clients on their most complex, cross-border transactions," said Francisco de Rosenzweig, White & Case's Mexico City office executive partner. "Carlos has a stellar reputation in the Mexican market. His arrival will help us further continue this momentum, while solidifying our presence in Mexico City as a leading firm for high-stakes, multijurisdictional M&A deals."

Joining from Creel Abogados, SC, Martinez has extensive experience providing tax advice to domestic and multinational companies on corporate transactions, including acting as Mexican tax counsel in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and restructurings and reorganizations. He also provides advice on international taxation, transfer pricing and tax litigation.

"Carlos brings a wealth of experience acting as tax counsel on complex, cross-border deals," said White & Case partner Sang I. Ji, global head of the tax practice. "Further strengthening our tax capabilities in Mexico through Carlos's arrival will support the continued growth and development of our corporate practice in this key market."

Martinez's arrival continues the expansion of White & Case's presence in Mexico City, following the recent arrivals of partners Narciso Campos Cuevas and Eduardo Flores Herrera in August, and the arrival of local tax partner Elizabeth González Gasca in May.
