Senior lawyer adds litigation expertise to global firm’s Sydney outpost
White & Case has welcomed another senior lawyer in Sydney from a rival, appointing Brad Strahorn as a partner.
Strahorn, who moves from Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), joins the global commercial litigation practice of the American giant. His move comes after partner Hamish Macpherson joined White & Case from HSF in May.
“Disagreements over construction contracts can significantly delay schedules and result in the loss of revenue,” said partner Glenn Kurtz, who leads the aforementioned practice. “Brad has advised principals and contractors in resolving domestic and multifaceted cross-border disputes that arise during the life cycle of infrastructure and energy projects.”
The new partner has extensive experience in construction disputes in energy and infrastructure, including matters related to road, rail, upstream and downstream oil and gas, and electricity, White & Case said. His litigation experience with construction of assets in these sectors typically concerns design liability, defects, performance failures, delays, and disruptions.

Bonnell, who was a long-time King & Wood Mallesons partner, moved to the firm in October last year.
Strahorn also advises companies with projects, including on project-delivery frameworks such as traditional, alliance, and public-private partnerships. He also advises on negotiation and drafting of contracts.
