Westpac senior lawyer returns to MinterEllison

MinterEllison has welcomed back Amela McPherson, who left the firm in 2016 to go in-house.

She returns as a partner in MinterEllison’s finance solutions team in Sydney after working as a senior lawyer at Westpac Institution Bank for more than two years.

“I’m thrilled to be back at MinterEllison, where I first got the taste for working in a truly collaborative environment with a high-performance culture,” McPherson said.

She first joined the firm as a senior associate in 2010. With 15 years as a corporate finance specialist under her belt, McPherson specialises in corporate lending, leveraged and corporate finance and project and real estate finance.

She is known for her finance work experience across top-tier law firms and major financial institutions. She has represented multitude of clients, such as commercial banks, private equity firms, large corporations and growing businesses.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Amela back as a partner in our finance solutions team,” said James Mok, MinterEllison’s partner and finance solutions team lead. “With her deep experience across a spectrum of financing transactions and markets, she will play an important part in further growing and developing our team and our relationships with clients.”
