Squire Patton Boggs makes global board appointments

Squire Patton has announced that partners Digna French and Greg Gale have been elected by the firm’s partners to serve on the global board with terms commencing on 1 January 2024.

Based in Miami, French focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, as well as cross-border and international litigation in both state and federal courts. She has specialized in defending sovereign nations and multinational corporations in issues relating to expropriations and seizures, international claims, domestication of foreign judgments, and general business issues, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and interference with advantageous business relations. French also serves as chair of the litigation practice in Florida.

Gale’s practice focuses on transactional matters, including cross-border transactions, private equity, leveraged finance, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and private companies. Located in New York, he also represents insurance companies providing representation and warranties insurance coverage. Gale previously served as managing partner of the firm’s New York office.

“Our firm continues to achieve tremendous success and execute upon a growth strategy that has seen us expand the scale and scope of our global practice in an environment that is undergoing rapid change,” said chair and global CEO Mark Ruehlmann. “Digna and Greg are respected leaders with an international outlook that reflects the reach of our firm. Their appointments continue our tradition of maintaining a strong governance structure to steer the firm’s strategic direction while staying true to our special culture that makes Squire Patton Boggs a great place to work.”

French and Gale replace Cip Beredo (corporate, Cleveland) and Karol Denniston (restructuring  and insolvency, San Francisco) who end their board service at the end of the year.

Earlier this year the firm announced several leadership appointments, including new office managing partners and practice group leaders. It also announced new office openings in markets including Amsterdam, Dublin, and Riyadh, as well senior hires into most of its core practice areas.
