Several senior lawyers join the new partners
Piper Alderman has welcomed Campbell Davidson, Cris Cureton, Brent Henderson, Richard Horton, Hai-Dang Nguyen, David Starkoff and Olena Brodovska to the partnership.
The seven new additions commenced in their new roles on 3 March, operating from Sydney. The partners bring several senior hires with them.
Davidson, Horton and Brodovska are part of the corporate team, while Cureton, Henderson and Starkoff join the projects, infrastructure and construction team. Nguyen is part of the financial services and fintech team.
Davidson brings over 30 years of experience, having handled M&A, disposals, joint ventures, foreign investment and directors’ duties. He has particular experience in cross-border transactions.
Horton is a veteran of corporate, commercial, and technology law, having practised in the space for more than 25 years. He has tackled venture capital and strategic financing, private equity, tech sector mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, intellectual property, and international manufacturing and distribution transactions.
Brodovska is dual-qualified to practise in Australia and Ukraine. With a focus on the technology sector, she has worked on M&A, fundraising, corporate governance, commercial contracts and transactions, intellectual property, privacy, and data protection.
Cureton has advised governments, utilities and major contractors on LNG, mining, power, rail and hospital projects for more than 30 years. He has handled major property, construction and engineering projects.
Starkoff has practised in the construction, infrastructure and energy space or over 20 years. He has advised on transaction structuring and obtaining merger clearances; he has been involved with Supreme Court litigation, commercial arbitration, and regulatory enforcement.
Henderson has tackled high-profile and complex construction and infrastructure projects in the transport, technology, defence, energy and water sectors for more than 20 years. He focuses on front end of construction and infrastructure projects.
Nguyen concentrates on property finance and investment, project finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, structured finance, and general corporate lending matters. He has also worked on structured investments, hedging and other derivative transactions, financial restructuring, and financial regulation.
In addition to these partners, special counsel Vicky Kossaris has joined Piper Alderman in Melbourne, along with an associate, law graduate and a legal administrative assistant. Senior associate Rachel Luo also commences in the Sydney office along with two associates, a lawyer and a legal administrative assistant.
