He succeeds Kieren Parker, who stepped down at the end of last year
Corporate and M&A partner Robert Kerr has taken the managing partner post at Addisons.
He succeeds Kieren Parker, who stepped down at the end of last year. Kerr’s term on top began on 1 January.
“Kieren has done a fantastic job leading the firm over the last five years and has overseen significant success in our business. I’m taking the baton, but what lies ahead is evolution and not revolution”, Kerr said, adding that strengthening Addisons’ market presence was among his priorities.
Kerr commenced with Addisons in 2015 as a senior associate and made partner in 2018. He concentrates on private share and asset sales and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, public M&A, debt and equity funding and capital markets transactions, commercial negotiations, and corporate and governance issues.
He has worked on matters in the technology, media, infrastructure, real estate, financial services and insurance, government, mining and resources, sport, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, consumer goods and food manufacturing sectors. He has also handled inbound investments and assisted in securing FIRB approval for foreign investments; moreover, he has guided shareholder activism matters from both company and shareholder perspectives.
Kerr’s clients have included Banijay Entertainment SAS, Bega Cheese Limited, SCR Sibelco NV, Consillion, Dragon Mining Limited, and Maas Group Holdings. He also sits on the Law Council of Australia’s foreign investment committee.
Addisons confirmed that Kerr would maintain his practice while leading the firm. His predecessor Parker, who began serving as managing partner in May 2021, is still a partner with the M&A and corporate team.
