Matt Servies joins DLA Piper’s transactions services practice in Atlanta, US

DLA Piper has added Matt Servies as a partner in the firm’s transactions services practice – a  sub-practice within the corporate and private equity practices in Atlanta, US. He previously spent nine years as a partner at Ice Miler in Indianapolis.

Servies focuses his practice advising private equity funds and their portfolio companies on tax structuring and corporate matters in connection with fund formation, acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions and operational matters.

He also regularly advises privately held companies on federal, state and local income, sales and use and employee tax matters in connection with ongoing operations and potential exit transactions.

“A strategic priority for our firm is our transactions services practice, which provides much needed tax counsel and support for our increasingly busy corporate, private equity and investment management practices,” said Stacy Paz, co-chair of DLA Piper’s transactions services and transactional tax practices. “Matt’s deep knowledge and experience on tax structuring will be an asset to our clients in this very active market.”
