Maddocks boosts Canberra team

Maddocks has boosted its Canberra office, welcoming Katerina Calvert to the team.

The new special counsel joined the independent team this week from Sparke Helmore. She is an important addition to the office, said Simonetta Astolfi, who leads the firm’s Commonwealth Government sector.

“Maddocks is a pre-eminent adviser to the Commonwealth Government and other clients in the area of probity, process, governance and procurement-structuring, and Katerina will augment our leading team in this area of work,” she said.

Calvert is a specialist in government advisory work, including probity advice, and litigation.

Her move follows that of new partner Pria O’Sullivan, who arrived to the firm with her team at the start of the month. Last year, Maddocks scored a major coup when it recruited three partners, including Canberra head Caroline Atkins, when DLA Piper closed its office in the capital city.
