Gadens adds family and relationship law partner

Gadens has attracted a new partner to join its family and relationship law team.

Jodylee Bartal has joined the firm from Lander & Rogers, where she practiced for more than a decade. She was also previously the head of the family law practice at Russell Kennedy.

“Our private client practice has experienced very strong growth in recent years, and with the introduction of same-sex marriage and changing definitions and types of families in Australia, we see this gaining even further momentum,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens chief executive.

An accredited family law specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria, Bartal advises married and de facto couples on a wide range of matters, including separation, divorce, parenting disputes, surrogacy, IVF, children’s matters, binding financial agreements, and financial and property settlements.

She also acts in litigation and defended matters, even in multi-party disputes, multiple jurisdictions and complex parenting, property, tax, valuation and financial matters.

Bartal said she is excited to join the Gadens family and relationship law team because of its reputation in the marketplace.

“Family law matters can be complex and require specialist input from a strong team of individuals. The pending changes to the family law system present numerous opportunities for me and for the rest of the team,” she said.
