DLA Piper helps UK holiday company further expand in Australia
DLA Piper advised Imagine Enterprises on its acquisition of Holiday Planet for an undisclosed sum.

Melbourne corporate partner Gerry Bean led the DLA Piper team on the deal. He was assisted by senior associate Dylan Burke and graduate Tara Alexander.

Bean said the firm is advising as Imagine further develops business operations across Australia.

“The acquisition of Holiday Planet provides a foothold in the Western Australian market, and expands the range of travel options the group can offer Australian holiday-makers,” he said.

Imagine, which is majority-owned by an Emirates Group division, is headquartered in the UK. The cruise and stay-holidays provider has offices in Cape Town, Dubai, and Brisbane.

The Holiday Planet Group, which is based in Perth, is one of Australia’s the largest privately-owned online travel companies. It trades under the HolidayPlanet, CruisePlanet, FlightPlanet, HotelPlanet, and SeniorsPlanet brands.

Imagine’s acquisition of Holiday Planet follows the group’s foray into the Australian market a year ago.
