The Australian- and US-qualified M&A lawyer has been a senior associate at another top Australian firm for the last three years

DLA Piper has hired corporate special counsel Amit Jois from Allens.

Jois, who is an Australian- and US-qualified M&A lawyer, joins the global firm’s Sydney office. He specialises in domestic and cross-border deals, including public and private M&A, divestments, restructures, strategic alliances, and joint ventures. Jois has extensive industrials sector experience, DLA Piper said.

James Philips, who heads the firm’s corporate group in Australia, said that the firm is delighted to welcome Jois to the fold as an increasing number of Australian and global clients are entrusting the firm with their critical transactions.

Jois said that he is excited to be joining DLA Piper’s corporate and M&A practice, which is one of the most active firms in the market on cross-border deals. He looks forward to working with not only the firm’s team in Australia but also its people across its global network.

The firm’s local corporate and M&A group is integrated into a network of specialist lawyers located in over 90 offices across more than 40 countries.
