Ashurst looks to finance behemoth for next technology chief

Ashurst has brought in an experienced executive to be its chief technology officer.

Noel Jordan has been appointed as the international law firm’s CTO. He joins the firm in May from GE Capital International, where he was group IT director. Prior to the top post, he was GE Capital Bank UK’s chief information officer for more than seven years. He has been with GE Capital since 2002, when Heller Financial – where he was European infrastructure manager – was acquired by the financial industry behemoth.

Jordan brings more than 20 years' technical expertise and program execution experience in the financial services, utilities, and engineering sector companies.

"Noel has a strong track record of leading change and driving transformation and innovation. We are confident that he will play a critical role in continuing to further develop our technology programs and initiatives to ensure that our service offering operates at the forefront of the market,” said Jan Gooze-Zijl, Ashurst chief financial and operations officer.

“The continued transformation within the legal sector and the role that technology plays in driving that change makes joining Ashurst a fascinating opportunity,” Jordan said.

Ashurst has more than 370 partners and more than 1,300 other lawyers working out of 25 offices in 15 countries. It has 152 partners in the country, where it has offices in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Ashurst merged with Australia’s Blake Dawson in 2012.
