New commercial manager comes into the ADR Centre

The ADR Centre has welcomed a new manager – commercial in seasoned in-house lawyer Michael Jamieson.

Jamieson will manage the Building Disputes Tribunal, the New Zealand International Arbitration Centre, and the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre in the role. He will also oversee the grocery industry dispute resolution scheme and the .nz domain name dispute resolution scheme effective 1 October.

ADR Centre director Catherine Green said that Jamieson joining the team would be “instrumental in enabling and safeguarding our strategic growth”. Jamieson’s legal career spans three decades, two of which were in in-house roles.

Before commencing with the ADR Centre, Jamieson was GC and company secretary at Kordia Group.

New child specialist at the FDR Centre

Timothy McMichael also started as an in-house child specialist with the FDR Centre.

“Timothy is a highly skilled FDR practitioner and has been an FDR panellist for ten years. He will provide a rich source of advice to our FDR providers, and his skills complement those of the Centre’s existing child inclusion specialists”, FDR Centre director John Green.

McMichael’s responsibilities will primarily involve Voice of the Child work, helping to train case managers for specialised roles such as preparation for mediation and conducting assessments.
