Commercial litigators enhance partnership at Gilbert Walker

Gilbert Walker has promoted senior associates Zoe Brentnall and Hamish McQueen to partners, reported the New Zealand Law Society.

Brentnall has provided guidance on complex commercial disputes, particularly in the construction and energy sectors. Her experience spans both international and domestic arbitration, and she has represented clients in matters involving professional liability, insurance, tort, contract matters, class actions, and regulatory investigations.

She rejoined Gilbert Walker in 2020, after stints at Shearman & Sterling LLP’s Singapore, Paris, and London offices. During this period, she acted for global corporations in significant commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under ICC, SIAC and ICSID regulations.

McQueen has assisted on regulatory, insurance, banking, and construction disputes. He has represented clients in courts at all levels, as well as in arbitrations, and defended significant class action claims, and responded to regulatory investigations and proceedings involving listed and privately held companies, Gilbert Walker said.

His clients included SkyCity and PwC.
