Anderson Lloyd has promoted 2022 Rising Star Josh Williams to the partnership.

Williams specialises in corporate law, particularly M&A, corporate and commercial structuring, carbon projects, and matters related to the emissions trading scheme. He has acted for both domestic clients and international clients launching or purchasing local businesses.

Through more than a decade in the field, he has tackled commercial and technology contracts, corporate governance issues, capital raisings, shareholder arrangements, and joint ventures. In line with his expertise in climate change matters, he has provided guidance on emissions trading scheme-related commercial contracts and New Zealand units.

The young father has worked with iwi/Māori organisations as well. He is Ngāi Tahu and takes pride in his whakapapa.

Anderson Lloyd lauded Williams as a key member of its carbon team with “strong people skills, an enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to core values.” His promotion reflected the firm’s focus on talent development, Anderson Lloyd said.

In February, NZ Lawyer named the Christchurch-based then-senior associate one of the profession’s Rising Stars.
