Martelli McKegg Lawyers, an Auckland-based law firm, has announced the appointment of Trevor Wairepo – who has garnered international legal experience and practical business insight throughout his career spanning over two decades – as a partner in its commercial team.

Wairepo commenced his legal career in the London offices of global firms. After returning to New Zealand, he worked in senior executive roles. Specifically, he was general counsel (GC) and company secretary for two large NZX-listed property companies. He recently operated his own advisory practice.
According to the firm, Wairepo has assisted businesses, boards, and leadership teams in reaching informed and timely legal and governance decisions determining their growth, managing risk and compliance matters ranging from everyday challenges to high-stakes transactions, and ensuring progress.
