Multinational firm Webb Henderson has announced two promotions in its Auckland office, including that of a former Linklaters and Russell McVeagh lawyer to the partnership

Multinational firm Webb Henderson has announced the promotion of Michael Gartshore to the partnership and Edward Willis to the position of senior associate in its Auckland office.

Gartshore advises clients on the full range of corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, takeovers, corporate restructurings, foreign investment in New Zealand and other corporate advisory, commercial contract and governance matters. He also advises on energy and infrastructure projects. Gartshore joined Webb Henderson in 2011, having previously worked at Linklaters and Russell McVeagh.

His previous work has included advising Ironbridge Capital and other shareholders of EnviroWaste on its sale to CKI and IAG New Zealand on its acquisition of Lumley General Insurance and AMI Insurance.

Senior partner Garth Sinclair says the firm is “delighted” that Gartshore is joining the partnership.

“Michael has been a core member of our team over the past few years as we have grown the corporate and projects areas of our business. He is an excellent lawyer who builds strong relationships with clients and has a real focus on adding value and getting the deal done or project completed."
