NZ Lawyer reveals the 2015 employers of choice.
Legal employers have invested significant resources in training staff, creating opportunities for lawyers to do interesting and challenging work for quality clients, facilitating access to technology to make it easier for staff to do their jobs, and promoting employee wellbeing and greater work life balance.
So have these initiatives achieved the desired result of a happier and more engaged workforce?
NZ Lawyer surveyed more than 2,000 employees from the Australian and NZ legal industries about what firms are doing right, and where there remains room for improvement. Based on this feedback, we reveal the NZ Employers of Choice.
Chapman Tripp topped the NZ list, followed by Buddle Findlay and Russell McVeagh.
“To win this award for the second consecutive year is wonderful because it reflects the pride our people take in their work and in the firm,” Chapman Tripp chief executive partner Andrew Poole said.
“We value all of our relationships – with our clients, our staff and the wider community – so it is s source of great satisfaction that everyone enjoys working here.”
The firm recently won a national accolade – a White Camilla award for its diversity strategy around gender equality.
“We’re delighted to receive this acknowledgment because this issue is very important to us,” Poole said.
Russell McVeagh was a top performer across Australia and NZ for training and professional development, with employees agreeing that the firm provides sufficient opportunities for learning and development.
